Wide Load!!!

If you are in the LA area, you have no doubt heard about “Levitated Mass.” It is a contemporary art installation at LACMA, involving a 340 ton rock which will be suspended over a negative space. Say what you will about the artistic merit (it almost sounds like an Onion piece: contemporary artist envisions large rock!) but on the logistical and engineering side, getting this mammoth monolith from Chino to LA, is pretty impressive. —Uncle Eb/John
